How well your team communicates determines its success … and yours

I am an accomplished and results-driven corporate communications professional with extensive experience leading strategic communication initiatives that amplify business initiatives, enhance brand visibility, cultivate stakeholder engagement and help employees navigate change.

I’ve helped companies like Novartis, Andelyn, ArsenalBio, Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Copart elevate their communications and create stronger relationships with stakeholders. I am also a certified change manager, with a successful track record of driving sustainable business initiatives for large change projects including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures and reductions in staff.

Let’s talk about the scope of the work you need to improve communication at your company. You may decide on one of my packages, or I can create a custom scope of work tailored to your needs.

According to expertmarket.com, 86% of employees cite ineffective communication as the main cause of workplace failures, poor productivity, conflict, and turnover. Project.co says that 53% of people have experienced burnout, stress, and fatigue due to communication issues in their business.

Channel and Content Review and Audit

I will look at the ways you currently communicate with your stakeholders and measure the engagement of each. From this data I will make suggestions on how best to elevate your communication channels and integrate them into a strategic network that effectively reaches your target audiences in multiple ways.

This includes evaluating the way you use external and internal social media platforms, digital tools such as SLACK, intranets, Town Hall Meetings, and more. I will also look at the types of content you currently have on these channels, what works and what doesn’t, and provide a comprehensive plan that will help you increase engagement and focus your efforts on messages that matter using best practices.

Intranet Launch or Overhaul

Is your intranet stale? Or perhaps you are a start-up that has not had the time to build an intranet or have the resources to maintain one?

I’ve worked with numerous small companies to help them build and launch an effective intranet on platforms they are already using, and created plans to help maintain it with the resources they already have. I work with IT and key stakeholders to leverage technology and create an easy to navigate communication system where employees can find the information they need, as well as feel connected to each other.

This package includes a full analysis of your current intranet, if you have one, and of your other communication channels. If you don’t have an intranet, I will assess what best options you have to build one. If you do have an intranet, I will focus on improvements to drive traffic and engagement. As part of the comprehensive plan I will present to you, I will also include information on how best to update and manage the intranet so it stays fresh and dynamic.

In today’s remote work environment, a closed system of communication has become the backbone of organizational operation and culture. Not only can intranets facilitate centralized information gathering, but it can also help raise employee engagement and productivity.

Corporate Communication Strategy

I will work with HR, Marketing and senior executives to develop a corporate communication strategy that includes key messages, target audiences and channels that will deliver the business outcomes you identify. You will not only get the complete strategy, but a comprehensive plan on how to execute on that strategy and measure results.

Change communication strategy

I am a certified change manager with experience leading major change initiatives such as money-saving projects, efficiency measures, divestitures, acquisitions, portfolio changes, downsizing, and more. I have successfully helped  employees and other stakeholders navigate and implement change with the least impact on company reputation and engagement.

No matter the size of the change your business is going through, I can help provide change leadership expertise as well as create a change communication plan and deliverables that will keep people informed, engaged, and focused.

Gartner reveals that the average organization has undergone five major firmwide changes in the past three years—and within the next three years, nearly 75% expect to multiply their change initiatives. However, statistics also show that 50% of change initiatives fail, with only 34% becoming a “clear success”. Much of this failure is due to poor communication.

Communication Workshops

Help your entire team improve their communication by hosting a workshop or a series of workshops to help build their skills and improve relationships. These workshops do best for a group of 20 or less. If there are more than 20 in your group, I recommend holding two workshops for smaller groups with the same content. We can work out a discounted pricing structure for multiple sessions on the same topic.

Each package includes a preparation session or sessions with you to assess your teams needs so I can tailor the workshops accordingly. Whenever possible, I will ask you for real-life examples of the challenges your team has communicating, so we can work on these specifically.

Possible workshop topics include (but are not limited to)

  • Creating impactful presentations

  • Improving team communication

  • Improving communication in a remote or hybrid workforce.

  • Project communication

  • Giving constructive feedback

  • Having difficult conversations

$500 per workshop – tailored to address one specific communication need  - price includes 1-90 minute training session on the topic of your choice.

$2500 workshop package – a more in depth communication training for managers or teams wanting to create a bigger impact. Includes 4 90-minute sessions on one or more topics of your choice, as well as 1 60-minute recap session that includes final takeaways and exercises.

According to a Grammarly report, 72% of business leaders and 52% of knowledge workers believe that effective communication increases team productivity.

Expertmarket.com says that improving internal communication can increase organizational productivity by as much as 25%.

According to research conducted by US firm Gartner, poor communication is responsible for 70% of corporate errors.
